Tomato varieties have about 8,000 seeds per ounce, although small-fruited varieties may have 10,000 or more seeds per ounce. Peppers have about 3,000 to 4,000 seeds per ounce, and eggplants have about 6,000 seeds per ounce. The larger quantities listed contain approximately the following numbers of seeds.

Extra-large, glossy, dark green bell peppers are blocky with 3 to 4 lobes. Sturdy, upright plants bear loads of these thick- walled, heavy peppers that measure at least 4-1/2 inches long and nearly as wide. Concentrated sets of fruit make for a heavy first pick.
