Paquime Hybrid (20 seeds) #9875
Enormous, giant jalapenos, bigger than any we have trialed in the past. The fruit are nearly 5 inches long. It is not the hottest jalapeno, and we would say if falls between medium and mild, depending on how much stress occurs during the growing period. Also, the heat does not linger on your tongue. Flavors and aroma are more complex than most jalapenos, so Paquime is really great for making salsa. And because they are so big, they make a nice grilling pepper or a stuffing pepper. If root-knot nematodes (M. incognita) are a problem for you in sandy growing areas, this may be an important variety to test. 70 days to ripe green fruit, 80 to 85 days to red
