Prolific, vigorous vines bear an abundance of pink-purple, pear-shaped tomatoes that average 6 ounces and are about 3 to 4 inches long. Their shape is quite unusual for a tomato, resembling the form of a d'Anjou pear. They have a delicious, sweet flavor and are very pretty for mixed colors on a platter or salad. Heirloom tomato from the Zapotec Indians of Mexico, this is a beautiful heavily ribbed dark pink fruit. Its pleated shape makes it very ornamental, and it would be wonderful hollowed and stuffed, or sliced to show off its scalloped edges. The flavor is sweet and mild, and yields are prolific. Developed by the same folks who brought you Florida 47 & 91, but with improved flavor and a deep red crimson gene which imparts more red color and more lycopene than other tomatoes.
